Some men may avoid therapy due to societal stigma around expressing vulnerability. They might perceive therapy as emasculating or prefer self-reliance. Additionally, a lack of awareness about mental health benefits and access barriers can deter men from seeking therapy, highlighting the importance of reducing stigma and promoting mental health awareness.

As a society, we need to do better in reducing the stigma of counseling and therapy. It seems as though women are more willing to seek out counseling and therapy, but men are hesitant. Getting the mental health treatment they often need would be very beneficial.
